Gotham Knights presents Barbara Gordon as Batgirl with a new trailer

Warner Bros. Games has taken advantage of the fact that the San Diego Comic-Con has opened its doors to show a new trailer for Gotham Knights focused on Batgirl, one of the four playable knights. The other three are Red Hood, Robin and Nightwing. If there is no unforeseen Gotham Knights will go on sale on October 25 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. The previously announced PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were scrapped last May.

In Gotham Knights Batman is dead, but Gotham City still has one bat left. This is Batgirl, the alter ego of Barbara Gordon, the daughter of detective James Gordon who is described as a woman with a willpower and determination that few can match. “For her, giving up is not an option. The fact that her father was one of the most famous police commissioners in Gotham City had a huge impact on her. Jim Gordon sacrificed his life for Gotham, and Barbara wants to make sure it wasn’t in vain,” the character description reads.

Gotham Knights’ Barbara Gordon is the one from the comics, but with a notable change. On paper, the Joker kidnaps Barbara Gordon, paralyzes her with two gunshots, and after this incident she adopts the identity of Oracle, an information and communications expert. This is how she appears in the Arkham series. However, in Gotham Knights, Commissioner Gordon’s daughter has not lost the mobility of her legs forever, since “thanks to hard training and intense rehabilitation, she has recovered from her injuries and has returned to action as Batgirl” .

When in combat, Batgirl can make use of different fighting styles, such as kickboxing, capoeira, or jiu-jitsu. Her weapon of choice is a tonfa that can be transformed into a nunchaku. In addition to being an expert in attacks and melee movements, Batgirl has hacking skills and programming of computers and technological systems, which allows her to access any type of information.
